Hi and thanks for coming!
Welcome to my site. It's a long time in the works,
but finally something for you to see!
How to describe my work . . . hmmm, let's see. I make
purses, pouches, back packs, belts, medicine bags, spirit bags,
leather-covered oil bottles, and much more. I like to think my work has
an organic edge to it, since I’m mostly working with deer, elk, and
occasionally some cow. I use the softest, most durable leathers. All of
my seams are hand- laced, my straps made wider at the tops so that heavy
loads don't dig into the shoulder too much, especially on the larger
purses. I love all the colors and textures. I am inspired by the skins.
More often than not, a skin will tell me what shape it wants to take. I
have standard bags that I make, but I also really enjoy creating the
one-of-a-kind pieces. My
work utilizes the edges of the skins, so even my standard "Kim" bags
will each be individual and esthetically unlike the next one.
Feathertree Leather is currently OPEN at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX for all weekends in April and May, 2008. Come visit!
